Grand Tour 2020

31.07.2020 — I have been invited by Nau Côclea to take part in the sixth edition of the Grand Tour as a guest artist. For me it will be an itinerant residency that will set off a new project on walking and territory.
Grand Tour is a walk that Nau Côclea organises each year across Catalonia, a route on foot that walkers take together with artists from every discipline.
Updated: 4/11/2020
The sixth edition of the Tour began on 8 August from Tàrrega and ended on 29 August at the Centre d’Art i Natura of Farrera, in the Pyrenees of Lleida. 21 days, 330 km and 25 walkers who took turns along the way, from the Pla d’Urgell to the Pallars Sobirà, through the Noguera and across the Montsec towards the Pallars Jussà.
I was one of the three lucky ones who had the chance to complete the whole route. For the first time I enjoyed a long crossing walking in a group and, like every crossing, this one too was an intense experience.
I thank Nau Côclea and all its team (Clara Garí, Jordi Rallo, Imma Pla Rius and Salvador Giralt) for inviting me to walk with them and for looking after me during the journey; I also thank Nyamnyam, the Centre d’Art i Natura of Farrera and all the walkers and the other wonderful people who shared the journey. Among the images that will always stay with me is each person’s way of walking, with their own style and personality, as unique and singular as a face.
