Borders. Cutting Line is an exhibition curated by Fina Duran and Jordi Tolosa, co-produced by the Museu de l’Empordà and the Lo Pati art centre in Amposta, which examines the senselessness of dividing lines, the pain of the walls that separate us, the relativity of our bodies —which we often use as a border before the other—, the landscapes of our limitations and also the borders that our environment imposes on us.

Borders are lines that separate, divide, represent a cut: a distance between the things they claim to limit. The true reason for being, the sharp force of all borders, lies in the power of those who draw them and in the acceptance of the limitations they impose.

The show presents works by Félix Blume, Joan Fontcuberta, Núria Güell, Marco Noris, Marina Núñez, Mireia Sallarès and Alba Sotorra in various formats (video, installation, sculpture, photography) and is accompanied by a programme of activities that includes people who have crossed mental borders and artistic expressions that go beyond the exhibition.
