La vora oberta (The Open Shore). Isabelle Meyer Prize 2025
We keep walking and we keep looking at the rivers up close, returning to the Ebro through its tributary, the Siurana River.

The transfer between the Siurana River and the Riudecanyes stream is one of the oldest and most persistent water conflicts in Catalonia. Conceived more than a century ago to guarantee the water supply to Reus and its agricultural surroundings, this ten-kilometre tunnel pierces the mountain and diverts almost the entire flow of the Siurana towards the Riudecanyes reservoir. A transfer that operates within a context of permanent drought affecting the Priorat.

My project «La vora oberta» is built around a walked crossing along the entire course of the Siurana, from its source in La Febró (Prades Mountains, Tarragona, 715 m above sea level) to its mouth in the Ebro River, near Garcia.
This past 21 December 2025, in Falset, the project received the Isabelle Meyer Prize 2025 from Terra d’Art (@terradartpriorat). I would like to thank the jury and the association for supporting this project and for welcoming us into their community.
