Recórrer el riu Ebre a peu

Marco Noris · Cos d'Ebre

info

Joan Vericat’s original article was published in Catalan in Canal 21 Ebre on 3 July 2025. The copy on this site is my personal archive.

What does a river hide? Kilometres of landscapes? Stories? Life? Over eighty days of travelling on foot, the Italian artist Marco Noris has tried to find out, journeying from the source of the river Ebro to its mouth. Across 1,200 kilometres, Noris has uncovered secrets hidden in a river that, although it always moves forward, says a great deal about our past.

Under the name Cos d’Ebre, the journey has become a project in which what matters is neither the beginning nor the destination, but the path that runs through it.

Once the route was finished, Noris settled at the Baladre artists’ residency in the Ebro Delta. There he organised the material and prepared an exhibition with the help of the Centre d’Art Lo Pati.

The exhibition can be visited from 6 September to 2 November and will address themes such as historical memory, landscape, borders and ecological conflicts.
