Marco Noris in «Un altre fi. La Resta»

Marco Noris, «Un altre fi. La Resta», El Born CCM, Barcelona 2022
Marco Noris has developed his recent artistic practice in the field of painting, around the landscape, ruin and historical memory. A la Frontera comprises a set of 212 postcards painted in oil or drawn in 2017 along a Pyrenean route on the French-Spanish border. The postcards are accompanied by Topònims de Frontera, a map of significant place names where the artist records those places linked to exile and resistance. This is the case of the landscape of the Hostal de la Muga, the crossing point on the so-called last route of the anti-Francoist guerrilla fighter Quico Sabaté in 1959, shortly before his death. During the dictatorship, the use of toponymy became a focus of linguistic resistance, promoted in particular by the Centre Excursionista de Catalunya, an organisation dedicated to hiking and the outdoors.
