“Allá donde las playas rotas nos muestran el cielo” in the exhibition 2024_n1, Piramidón
In the group exhibition https://www.piramidon.com/es/exposiciones/viewing-room-2">2024_n1 at Piramidón, a contemporary art centre in Barcelona, my work «Allá donde las playas rotas nos muestran el cielo» is on view, an oil painting from 2017 that belongs to a series on mass graves and places of disappearance.
The title of the work comes from a poem by Raúl Zurita: «Allá donde las playas rotas nos muestran el cielo y sobre el cielo el mar y sobre los escombros del mar las mismas bahías quebradas las mismas islas a pedazos / los mismos llorosos tipos / No hay paz para los perdidos decimos mirándonos los restos cruzar entre las rajadas aguas del cielo / hechos polvo / desmembrados / con otros tipos llorando».
Residents Room is Piramidón’s exhibition space featuring a selection of representative works by each resident artist. The space presents a wide range of practices, from hyperrealism to abstract painting, including photography and sculpture.
